Ahmed Bin Mohammed Military College Participates in ISOMA 2025 Conference in Kosovo

Ahmed Bin Mohammed Military College participated in the International Symposium of Military Academies (ISOMA) 2025, a prestigious academic and military event held biennially. The ninth edition of the symposium was hosted by the Kosovo Defense Academy in Pristina, the capital of Kosovo, from 10 to 14 November 2025.

Held under the theme “Adapting Military Education to the Challenges of the 21st Century: Innovations in Teaching and Learning for Global Security”, the conference witnessed strong international engagement. Approximately 37 research papers were presented, with around 110 participants in attendance, forming a diverse and distinguished gathering of military officers, academic experts, and officer cadets.

The participants represented more than 20 military academies and universities, including the Korean Military Academy, West Point (USA), École Spéciale Militaire de Saint-Cyr (France), Ahmed Bin Mohammed Military College (State of Qatar), the Royal Military Academy of Belgium, among others. The conference aimed to promote academic exchange and discuss strategies for modernizing military education to effectively address the complex security challenges of the 21st century.

The College’s participation was both impactful and comprehensive, encompassing strategic leadership engagement, academic research contributions, and student excellence, reflecting the College’s esteemed standing among leading global military institutions.

Strategic Leadership and Institutional Representation

The College delegation was led by His Excellency the College Commander, Brigadier General Ali Mohammed Al-Fadala, whose presence added significant strategic weight to the conference. His Excellency took part in the meeting of the International Association of Military Academies (IAMA), of which Ahmed Bin Mohammed Military College is an active member. Alongside fellow leaders of military academies worldwide, he contributed to discussions on the future of academic-military cooperation and upcoming editions of the ISOMA conference. Accompanying His Excellency were Captain Dr. Badr Abdulhadi Al-Dosari and Dr. Fahad Aqlah Al-Ruwaili, who played a key role in strengthening academic and diplomatic engagement with participating delegations and representing the College across various official conference activities.

Academic Contributions Reflecting a Forward-Looking Vision

On the academic front, a distinguished group of College faculty members presented high-quality research papers that stood out within the conference’s scientific program, addressing cutting-edge issues and emerging challenges in military education.

  • Addressing institutional and quality assurance dimensions, Dr. Boumediene Kabaïli, a specialist in academic accreditation, presented a paper titled “Barriers to Academic Accreditation in Military Institutions of Higher Learning”. His research examined the challenges faced by military higher education institutions in achieving academic accreditation and offered a strategic roadmap toward quality assurance and academic excellence in line with international standards.
  • Dr. Zakaria Nour Eddine Belkhamza delivered a forward-looking paper titled “Molding Military Minds: Crafting an Interdisciplinary Cognitive Warfare Curriculum”. His presentation proposed an innovative framework for integrating cognitive warfare concepts into military education curricula, advocating for a multidisciplinary approach that equips officer cadets with mental agility and resilience to confront next-generation conflicts.
  • In the field of advanced cybersecurity, Dr. Yassin Al-Hamdani presented a distinguished research paper entitled “Adaptive AI-Driven Threat Intelligence for Zero-Day Attack Prevention”. The paper explored the use of adaptive artificial intelligence to anticipate and mitigate sophisticated cyber threats, highlighting the rapid technological advancements shaping modern security environments.

Distinction of Ahmed Bin Mohammed Military College Cadets

The cadets of Ahmed Bin Mohammed Military College demonstrated a high level of distinction, reflecting the quality of the College’s educational and leadership outcomes. Cadet Saad Mohammed Kharboush and Cadet Nawaf Mubarak Al-Hanzab took the stage to deliver a joint presentation entitled “Forging Leaders: How Ahmed Bin Mohammed College Shapes Future Military Leaders.” During their presentation, the cadets highlighted the College’s approach to developing officers’ leadership character and its integration of military training with academic education. The presentation also included an introductory video showcasing Ahmed Bin Mohammed Military College.

In a gesture recognizing the stature of the College and its students, Cadet Saad Mohammed Kharboush was selected as part of a small delegation of international cadets to visit the Presidential Palace. The selected cadet had the honor of meeting Her Excellency the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Ms. Vjosa Osmani, during this high-level diplomatic event, underscoring the strong reputation and international trust enjoyed by the College and its members.

As part of Ahmed Bin Mohammed Military College’s participation in the International Symposium of Military Academies (ISOMA) 2025, Officer Cadet Saad Mohammed Kharboush and Officer Cadet Nawaf Mubarak Al-Hanzab demonstrated outstanding performance through their active participation in the War Game Exercise, one of the most prominent and high-impact training activities dedicated to cadets during the conference.

The exercise aimed to promote the exchange of experience and enhance leadership skills within an interactive learning environment that combined practical training with strategic discussions. This participation contributed significantly to broadening the cadets’ professional horizons and deepening their understanding of the requirements of joint military operations. They took part in academic sessions and exchanged insights with peers from various countries, which enriched their knowledge of modern training methodologies and leadership practices in multinational environments.

War Game Exercise: A Realistic Simulation of Strategic Thinking

The War Game Exercise represented the highlight of the cadets’ participation. This simulation was based on an operational scenario involving two opposing forces, one assuming an offensive role while the other carried out defensive operations. The exercise aimed to develop strategic thinking among officer cadets and strengthen their decision-making abilities under complex conditions. This was achieved through continuous analysis of battlefield developments, risk assessment, and efficient management of military resources to accomplish objectives with minimal losses.

During the simulation, both cadets demonstrated a high level of mental discipline, rapid responsiveness, and the ability to operate effectively within a multinational team—reflecting the quality of training and preparation provided by Ahmed Bin Mohammed Military College. The exercise also offered a collaborative training environment that brought together joint teams from different countries.

Notably, the cadets were particularly impressed by the advanced capabilities of participants from the Republic of Korea, especially in their use of virtual reality technologies in military training. This approach presented a leading model for integrating modern technology into capacity building and enhancing operational readiness.

Ahmed Bin Mohammed Military College’s participation in ISOMA 2025 was comprehensive and impactful. From the strategic leadership presence of the College Commander and the accompanying delegation, to the academic papers presented, and the distinguished performance of the cadets in activities and official engagements, the College affirmed its position as a leading military academic institution that actively contributes to shaping the future of military education globally.
