Under the patronage and in the presence of the Dean of Academic Affairs at Ahmed Bin Mohammed Military College, Dr. Khalid bin Nasser Al Khater, the Deanship of Academic Affairs organized a seminar entitled “The Ethics of Media Coverage in Wars and Crises” as part of its scientific and cultural seminar program. The seminar was presented by Dr. Wael Abdel Aal, a faculty member at Qatar University. It was held at 8:00 a.m. on 24 September 2026 in the college’s first-floor meeting room.
The seminar addressed the professional responsibilities of the media when covering wars and crises, including the importance of verifying information before publication and respecting the dignity and privacy of those affected. It also highlighted the need to balance the public’s right to know with the responsibility to avoid spreading rumors or publishing material that could put people at risk.
The seminar also emphasized the importance of accuracy and fairness in reporting events, and the role of responsible media coverage in helping the public understand what is happening during crises.
