It is my pleasure, on behalf of myself and the members of the Accounting Department, to welcome you to the department’s webpage, through which we reach out to our dear students, esteemed colleagues, and our honorable military community.
I am pleased to present to you the department’s vision and its expanding role in serving both the academic and military missions of Ahmed bin Mohammed Military College (ABMMC). In recent years, the college has witnessed significant advancement in its academic programs, in line with contemporary developments and the strategic vision of the Qatar Armed Forces toward fostering professional competencies capable of combining military discipline with academic excellence.
The Accounting Department at Ahmed Bin Mohammed Military College is not merely an academic department that grants a bachelor’s degree; it is a foundational pillar in shaping the “military accountant leader”—an officer fully versed in financial affairs, committed to safeguarding state resources, and upholding the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and discipline. These values guide our work and define the model we seek to build. Guided by this vision and driven by our national responsibility, our strategic plan is built upon two fundamental pillars:
First Pillar: Sustained Academic Excellence
The department has dedicated itself to keeping pace with global developments in accounting education by updating its academic plans to include the latest courses in governmental accounting, accounting information systems, management information systems, and financial governance, in addition to applied workplace training, which serves as a core component in refining the skills of cadets.
Concepts of digital accounting, electronic data analysis, and the application of information technology tools in accounting and auditing processes have also been integrated. Moreover, the department promotes digital literacy, adopts modern accounting systems, and develops students’ abilities in financial analysis and decision-making—aligning with global trends in accounting education and with the college’s vision of preparing national professionals capable of navigating digital transformation in military institutions and performing their financial oversight duties with high efficiency.
Second Pillar: Distinct Military Identity
The department does not graduate accountants alone; it graduates accounting officers equipped with strong analytical capabilities, accredited professional skills, and advanced accounting knowledge enabling them to perform their duties efficiently within military, administrative, and financial environments.
Accordingly, military and ethical principles have been carefully embedded within the curriculum, with a focus on accounting in military and security contexts, managing defense budgets, financial oversight in military units, and adherence to accounting and auditing standards applied in the military sector. The department also strengthens the culture of responsibility and financial discipline as integral elements of national loyalty.
The department’s achievements today are the result of the combined efforts of our academically and scientifically distinguished faculty members, the support of the Academic Affairs Deanship and the college leadership, and the positive engagement of our cadets who continue to demonstrate, year after year, their ability to excel with commitment and diligence.
Our cadets are the true capital of the department, and we strive to equip them with cutting-edge knowledge and skills that empower them to be builders and decision-makers—carrying the banner of knowledge and discipline and contributing to Qatar’s vision of achieving financial and economic security.
We look forward to continued collaboration with all members of the college and with military institutions across the State of Qatar, as we pursue our noble mission of preparing a new generation of accountants capable of leading financial responsibilities within the military and security sectors with competence and professionalism.
